How employees are being affected by a full-time return to office.

⚠️New data shows work-related stress and anxiety is skyrocketing among full-time office workers and those without schedule flexibility.

In other words, an inflexible return to office policies are harming the employee experience.

The data examined employee and manager perspectives on productivity, sense of belonging, and preferred ways of working. And included over 10,000 knowledge workers in the U.S., Australia, France, Germany, Japan, and the U.K.

Key findings include:

◽ Full-time in-office workers posted 2x as steep a decline in work-life balance, compared to flexible (hybrid and remote) workers.

◽ Full-time in-office workers reported 1.5x worsening work-related stress and anxiety compared to remote workers.
46% of working parents reported “I am worried that working remotely most or all of the time is negatively affecting my career trajectory” compared to 34% of non-parents.

◽ Compared to executives, non-executives’ work-life balance scores are now 40% worse than their bosses, declining at five times the rate of executives over the previous quarter.

◽ Workers with little to no ability to set their own work hours are 2.6x as likely to look for a new job in the coming year, compared to those with schedule flexibility.
